Hello MES Families!
I am so excited to share that the snow shoes we received, thanks to so many generous donors on Mr. Lane's Donors Choose page, are being used during PE classes!! The students are really enjoying learning how to snow shoe and this active and fun activity is great for our students. Be on the lookout for pictures coming soon to our website!
Next week on March 19th we kick off our "PAWS to Read" campaign here at MES! We will be encouraging all of our students to read and tracking their progress with paws all along our hallways. As part of our "PAWS to Read" campaign, we will be having our annual book fair beginning March 26th in our library, guest readers will be coming in to read to our students, and we will be having another fun literacy night on March 27th! More information will be coming home in the next couple of weeks.
On March 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm a group of MES staff will be holding an informational meeting titled: Childhood Trauma-A National Health Crisis. We want to share about the learning our staff has been doing and share what we here at MES are doing to address this crisis. This presentation is not really geared toward students and is more a night for parents and community members to learn and discuss with us. We hope to see you there!
We continue to look for donations for our snack baskets. They have been so helpful in making sure all kids have a snack each day. Due to restrictions, we can only accept specific food items. Individual bags of Cheez-its, animal crackers, cheese or peanut butter crackers, Goldfish, or cereal bars would be greatly appreciated. Bags of apples and orange are also fantastic! We want to thank the families that have already donated and hope that you know how much it is appreciated!
As always if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me. I look forward to our continued partnership in your child's education.
